Silver Wing Sailing Club
Three Points to Note:
- The 1st. Race of the Month, December 4, is an Individual Pursuit Race. These are aimed at giving the lest experienced/successful crews a chanceof some clear air at start and to finish, if not infront, at least in sight of the winner. Individual racers will start at different times according to the procedure and their listing on the Race Notice Board. The race will last approx. 50 minutes from the normal Start Signal and the Finish signalled by the Shorten Course flag at the appropriate Mark, i.e. there is no predetermined number of laps. The finishing order is as boats cross the line and there is no need to record times.
- It has become more usual for some of the newer members to continue sailing after the last race has finished. This is an encouraging trend but it means that Safety Duties do not finish with the last race. Those now on the water will generally be less experienced that those racing and thus in greater need of safety surveillance. The safety boat should not be put away and activity monitoring should not cease until the last boat is off the water.
- A Duty Team Sign-On Sheet will be posted on the Notice Board. All members of the Duty Team please sign-on at the beginning of the day.
